Grindelwald lies in the Lütschental valley  20 km from Interlaken.

In both summer and winter Grindelwald can be reached by car from Basel/Zurich/Geneva via Bern or Lucerne/Brünig Pass. From the south, you reach the Jungfrau Region via Grimselpass (only in Summer) or via Simplonpass and afterwards Lötschberg car transport.

Grindelwald is bedded in between the impressive Eiger and the majestic Wetterhorn. Grindelwald offers in summer 500 kilometres of footpaths, 160 km of mountain bike trails, cable cars and railways, theme paths, adventure sports, climbing and mountaineering areas, waterfalls, alpine lakes – all accompanied by the breathtaking panoramic views of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.

In winter The three regions Grindelwald-First, Kleine Scheidegg-Männlichen and Mürren-Schilthorn together offer a total of 213 km of ski runs ranging from fast to leisurely. A total of more than 40 percent of the ski runs are equipped with snow-making machines. In the Jungfrau Region however, non-skiers also get their money’s worth: 100 kilometres of winter footpaths enable you to explore the mountains on foot. Furthermore, with its countless toboggan runs, the region is a real paradise for tobogganing. Amongst them is the longest toboggan run in the Alps.

Once in the Jungfrau Region, do not forget a ride on a “Velogemel” – a single-track, steerable snow bike that the people of Grindelwald have been using to get around since 1911. Every February, the World Championship takes places in Grindelwald – you can be part of it!

Grindelwald is connected to Wengen by Kleine Scheidegg. Jungfrauregion counts 4 villages, Grindelwald, Wengen, Mürren and Lauterbrunnen. Wengen and Mürren are car free.
